Call for Speakers Expression of Interest

All APMP Members and Industry are welcome to submit and EOI to deliver a keynote/speaker presentation or participate as a panellist.  We are seeking all levels of experience to share on a range of topics.



EOI Application Process

Please send an email to chair@apmpanz.org as early as possible and by 31 December 2025 with a response to the following points:                        

  Your name, industry, and experience in bidding (or relationship to the bid and proposal profession)

  The speaker option you are most interested in

 Your topic and a few sentences on what you’d cover

 Why you think your presentation is well suited to this audience

 Your experience as a presenter (i.e., level of confidence – we’ll do our best to support you)

We will start assessing applications from 1 August.

Note – to avoid missing out we suggest you get an application in asap. The first round of speaker announcements will be made from 1 September. All further EOIs will be assessed/secured on an ongoing basis.  We reserve the right to recruit external speakers direct, but they will be subject to the same review and oversight of the EOI process.



What are we looking for?

The APMP ANZ Committee will progressively lock in speakers that best fit with the needs of the conference and delegates. We ask that you be mindful that we are volunteers and will respond as soon as possible.

Some helpful guidelines to consider before you submit an EOI – what we are looking for: 

Option A: Keynote speaker to inject energy to the start of the conference - inspire the next two days of learning in strategic bidding, macro trends, procurement, and everything in between the pursuit of new business and winning.

  • Suggested areas of focus – Stories of resilience and change; Personal Brand – Reputation Management; Communication through Body Language; Return on investment; Value of bid and proposals; Productivity; Teamwork
  • Requirements - Skilled professional/speaker; Presentation needs to be evidence-based and have extensive examples/case studies; Skilled in captivating and engaging audiences
  • Duration – Approx 55 mins (including 5 mins Q&A).

Option B: Speaker(s) to present insights into current landscape for government/private procurement and possible impacts on bidding OR
Insights from marketing or futurists on macro and industry trends facing Australia, New Zealand and Global, and impact on customer needs over the next 5-10 years.

  • Requirements - Skilled professional/Subject Matter Expert; Confident presenting to large groups; Presentation needs to be evidenced-based and have extensive examples/case studies; Provide useful tools/templates/handouts
  • Duration - 40 mins (including 5 mins Q&A).

Option C: Facilitator / Panellists to provide insight into and robust discussion on procurement / bid strategy / engaging leadership support in bids and proposals / future of bid and proposal management / reflections on what evaluators want to see and good questions to be asking procurers / where to from here in terms of Artificial Intelligence.  

  • Requirements – Executive or senior leaders/Subject Matter Experts; Confident in engaging in robust discussion and presenting to large groups; Insights need to be evidenced-based and leverage extensive examples/case studies
  • Duration – 40 mins (including 5 mins Q&A)

Option D: Trainers/Workshop Facilitators to support skills uplift with tried and tested techniques

  • Suggested areas of focus – Effective writing (dealing with writer's block, quality writing, from win themes to executive summaries, persuasive writing); The How to of Bid Process (from initiation to lodgement); Alignment across sales/estimation/bid.
  • Requirement - Skilled Practitioner/Trainer
  • Duration - 40 mins with course materials/takeaways (including 5 mins Q&A)

Option E: Speaker(s) to confidently engage and support learning and growth of bid and proposal professionals by focussing on various aspects of bidding from capture to lodgement, using case studies to bring your presentation to life – there’s always something we can learn from each other.

  • Suggested areas of focus –  Heroics do not make heroes; Upward management; What is bidding like across different industries; The must dos before bid release; Planning for changing government policies and requirements; Alternatives to PowerPoint presentations; Effective interviews and presenting to prospective clients; What's your worst horror story, and how did you work with it?; Work life balance; Creative strategies to get content/deliverables from SMEs; Principles of efficient reviews; How to respond to "seagull management" during review processes.
  • Requirement – Skilled professional/confident in engaging medium sized groups
  • Duration – 30 mins utilising case studies/evidence-based presentation (no Q&A)

Option F: Speaker(s) to provide short/sharp presentations (“pitches”) on how they are supporting continuous improvement in bidding / innovation in bids.  Think of the presenters on Ted Talks to ensure it is an engaging and lively presentation.

  • Requirements:  Looking for a professional development opportunity / interested in practicing stage presence OR keen to give air time to an idea
  • Duration: 10 mins
